are now on a brand new server and are each on a fully upgraded
Wordpress. I was previously using 2.0.2 Beta … I am now using 2.6.
Due to that change, and other additions, maintaining and working on
this site and The Halography have now become much more organized and
fun. This site will no longer be held back by the limitations of the
software and all of the problems associated with it.

This site here was 1.0.
The first transition to UNSCleric.com and Wordpress was 2.0.
And what starts today, is 3.0.
It's been a while...

Just wanted to let anyone know who hasn't seen for themselves already, UNSCleric.com and UNSCleric.com/news are going strong, and just today, my premium membership here at xanga.com expired, so ads will now be on this site for the first time ever. To continue your ad-free Xbox 360 news reading, go on over to UNSCleric.com!
Thursday, February 02, 2006

The New UNSCleric.com is now Live!

No more news will be reported here on xanga.com/xbox360, as the new News page is now UNSCleric.com/news

It's been a great 9 months here, and thank you to the 17,000+ who have continued to come here day after day and I hope to see you over at the new site and news page.

  - UNSCleric
Wednesday, February 01, 2006

Call of Duty II Patch Now Available

“Infinity Ward and Activision have issued a Title Update that addresses the player progression loss issues associated with Call of Duty 2 on the Xbox 360. free Burnout Revenge download – including an exclusive Xbox 360 car,
dashboard theme and gamer pic. A memory card is required, and it's not known if these will ever be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

After months of telling you guys about it, the New UNSCleric.com will finally go live tomorrow, in 23 hours from the time of this posting. Now I don't want anyone to get all hyped up about it, as it's not an incredible step-up, but I think it'll be a much better layout for what I want to do in the future with this site. Here's everything you should know before checking out the new site tomorrow.

I made it with organization and expansion in mind, so that means the site itself isn't very flashy or professional like you'd see at Xbox.com or something like that. It's a basic, but neat, layout that will make it easy to get to everything I am offering at my site.

The front page of UNSCleric.com will feature a current "headline story" that'll change every day or two most likely, but above that story will be a link to all the latest news. If you've been reading A Chat With Cleric over at UNSCleric.com/blog, you'd know that I changed my plans for the news layout just a week or so ago. News will once again be posted on a blog-like layout, but major stories and developments will get their own page hosted over at UNSCleric.com. Daily news though will just be posted over at UNSCleric.com/news in an easy to read blog format. This is a much better way to do the news than I had originally planned.

Also, tomorrow, one of the new features on the new UNSCleric.com will be a Games Calendar, but it's not like many you have seen. I will only be listing games that have a confirmed release date, either by the publisher/developer, or when it's obvious the game is coming out that day due to leaked information or whatever. So when you look at the Upcoming Games section tomorrow, don't be shocked to only see 5 games or something coming in the next 3 months, as not every game coming out in the next couple months has been confirmed yet.

I did it this way so that when you actually look at the release date schedule, you can actually plan on the game coming out that day. I can't be the only one sick of websites and stores saying a date, and then every 3 weeks, pushing back the date another month, and then saying the game was "delayed". A game is only delayed if the people making the game admit it was, or if they announce an official date or month, and then don't deliver the game at that time. Delays can't happen if the game was only given a placeholder date over at GameStop, com so that they can take pre-orders. Anyway, that's how it'll work at my site, as I want to give the most reliable information possible.

My site might not be the best looking, but it's advertisement free, will be updated constantly with breaking news, and like you've seen on this site, I even report on obscure news that a lot of other sites don't report on, like the tip on how to boot to the Xbox 360 dashboard with a game in, or the news about the fire at 2K games, interesting things like that.

Also, make sure to check out the revamped, perfected version of The Halography tomorrow, as it's the first time it's ever been on a website in physical form (as in, not just a downloadable file), and I'm very excited about it.

The New UNSCleric.com will be up tomorrow morning!
Tuesday, January 31, 2006

Current Xbox 360 Sales = 1.5 million
900,000 Xbox 360s in North America
500,000 in Europe
100,000 in Japan
4 games sold per system, 3 accessories sold per system.

It's still impossible to walk into a store and pick up a system of course, but it'll get easier due to a new manufacturer (Celestia) coming into the mix in February. I would guess that by May or June you will start being able to walk into stores like Best Buy or Target on a regular basis and see a couple on the shelf, but for those who are really looking for one, you should be able to find one all the time by early March or April.

The new Xbox 360 auto update that came out early Monday improved the Guide menu's stability across all games, and take out any lag associated with hitting the Guide button and having the menu slide in.

UNSCleric.com launches this Thursday! Final additions to the new site are being worked on now, and work will continue until the moment of launch Thursday morning.

The Xbox 360 dashboard can be easily updated to add new buttons, features, and even a new blade or two. This was done to keep it fresh, customizable, and make it able to adapt to anything in the future.

Tuesday, January 31, 2006

As I reported a week or two ago, Microsoft has been working on a new Dashboard update, and today, it seems that at least a part of it has been released.

Today, the Xbox team released an update for the Xbox 360 dashboard. As soon as you log into Xbox Live on your Xbox 360 it'll automatically download and you'll be set.

What the download consists of:

Improvements to the Xbox Guide.

Option to retain your saved games when you delete a profile.

Increased accuracy of "last time played."

Network configuration improvements for Xbox Live members in the Netherlands.

More detailed messaging for unreadable disk or region errors.

If for some reason you are not getting prompted for the Auto Update, then test your connection
to live (System Blade->Network Setting->Test Xbox Live
Connection) and you’ll get the prompt.

Saturday, January 28, 2006

Many thought this would happen, but today saw confirmation that
Splinter Cell: Double Agent has been "delayed" until Fall 2006.
It was a rumored March release, but most anyone in the know had a
feeling it wouldn't be out so soon. This is sure to be the huge
Xbox 360 game this Fall alongside Gears of War, as I don't believe Halo
3 will be coming until 2007.
