UNSCleric.com 3.0

For the first time in over two years, xanga.com/xbox360 is getting a new entry.

A new Reincarnation of UNSCleric.com began a few hours ago.  This journey started here a little over three years ago.  For nine months, my site was ran here on xanga, then, on February 2nd, 2006, it shifted from here and onto a Wordpress blog hosted on my newly created domain UNSCleric.com.

Since that transition, many things have happened.  The site has hit the front page of Digg a few times, it's been attacked a few times, and it's been there through some of the biggest launches in gaming history.  The way I did things, and the software I was using always held the site back though, and held me back.  I do not have the time to run the site like I used to, but I still try to maintain it, and the time-consuming methods that I was forced to endure did not help matters.  Today, however, that all changes.

For example, UNSCleric.com and TheHalography.com are now on a brand new server and are each on a fully upgraded Wordpress.  I was previously using 2.0.2 Beta … I am now using 2.6.  Due to that change, and other additions, maintaining and working on this site and The Halography have now become much more organized and fun.  This site will no longer be held back by the limitations of the software and all of the problems associated with it.

This site here was 1.0.
The first transition to UNSCleric.com and Wordpress was 2.0.
And what starts today, is 3.0.

Call of Duty II Patch Now Available

“Infinity Ward and Activision have issued a Title Update that addresses the player progression loss issues associated with Call of Duty
2 on the Xbox 360. The team is continuing to work on additional updates and we will keep you posted."

Infinity Ward is still working on a patch to address the lag issues found in the online multiplayer.

There's some Superbowl-themed picture packs and Dashboard backgrounds now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace.  Go here to see what they look like before you buy.

Burnout Revenge has been pushed up a week, and now will be coming out on March 7th, which is also my birthday!  Until then, you can  go to any video game retailer for a free Burnout Revenge download – including an exclusive Xbox 360 car, dashboard theme and gamer pic.  A memory card is required, and it's not known if these will ever be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace.

After months of telling you guys about it, the New UNSCleric.com will finally go live tomorrow, in 23 hours from the time of this posting.  Now I don't want anyone to get all hyped up about it, as it's not an incredible step-up, but I think it'll be a much better layout for what I want to do in the future with this site.  Here's everything you should know before checking out the new site tomorrow.

I made it with organization and expansion in mind, so that means the site itself isn't very flashy or professional like you'd see at Xbox.com or something like that.  It's a basic, but neat, layout that will make it easy to get to everything I am offering at my site.

The front page of UNSCleric.com will feature a current "headline story" that'll change every day or two most likely, but above that story will be a link to all the latest news.  If you've been reading A Chat With Cleric over at UNSCleric.com/blog, you'd know that I changed my plans for the news layout just a week or so ago.  News will once again be posted on a blog-like layout, but major stories and developments will get their own page hosted over at UNSCleric.com.  Daily news though will just be posted over at UNSCleric.com/news in an easy to read blog format.  This is a much better way to do the news than I had originally planned.

Also, tomorrow, one of the new features on the new UNSCleric.com will be a Games Calendar, but it's not like many you have seen.  I will only be listing games that have a confirmed release date, either by the publisher/developer, or when it's obvious the game is coming out that day due to leaked information or whatever.  So when you look at the Upcoming Games section tomorrow, don't be shocked to only see 5 games or something coming in the next 3 months, as not every game coming out in the next couple months has been confirmed yet.

I did it this way so that when you actually look at the release date schedule, you can actually plan on the game coming out that day.  I can't be the only one sick of websites and stores saying a date, and then every 3 weeks, pushing back the date another month, and then saying the game was "delayed".  A game is only delayed if the people making the game admit it was, or if they announce an official date or month, and then don't deliver the game at that time.  Delays can't happen if the game was only given a placeholder date over at GameStop, com so that they can take pre-orders.  Anyway, that's how it'll work at my site, as I want to give the most reliable information possible.

My site might not be the best looking, but it's advertisement free, will be updated constantly with breaking news, and like you've seen on this site, I even report on obscure news that a lot of other sites don't report on, like the tip on how to boot to the Xbox 360 dashboard with a game in, or the news about the fire at 2K games, interesting things like that.

Also, make sure to check out the revamped, perfected version of The Halography tomorrow, as it's the first time it's ever been on a website in physical form (as in, not just a downloadable file), and I'm very excited about it.

The New UNSCleric.com will be up tomorrow morning!
